We had an amazing experience with Destin X Watersports during our family trip to Destin! The rental process was incredibly easy from start to finish, and the staff was friendly and helpful the entire time. The BEST decision we made was hiring a captain — Jarred Wyatt was absolutely fantastic. He took us to Crab Island, then brought us to another beautiful beach area by the harbor, and even gave us a tour of the gorgeous waterfront homes. He made the entire day fun, relaxing, and stress-free. Our pontoon boat with the slides and lily pad was perfect for our group and made the day even more enjoyable. This ended up being one of the highlights of our trip, and we would 100% recommend Destin X Watersports to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely book with them again!

We had fun! The pontoon boat was great and we parked at crab island and spent a couple hour's swimming and playing. Got some ice cream and a t-shirt. Then spend the rest of the time exploring the coastline and snorkeling. The staff and crew were super cool and chill. We recommend.

The reason we chose this company to rent from originally was by chance, as we were eating on the patio at Brotula's. We inquired about watercraft rental in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant, and these folks had the best rates and availability at the time. No issues, great service, and the dock hands are always awesome. Dakota helped us out this year, and hopefully we'll see him next year! I'd recommend it without hesitation, especially if you want to search for dolphins in the bay! We stumbled across a tremendous display of dolphin activity today - the most and closest we've seen them in three years - and got amazing video and photos. We spotted a few schools of stingrays, and plenty of Moon Jellyfish, too. Exponentially better than those overly-crowded dolphin tours! Don't be afraid to explore the bay! Parking

Destin Water Fun (214 Harbor Blvd): customer parking on site covers one vehicle per reservation, first come, first served — on busy days we suggest carpooling. Extra vehicles park free at 310 Mountain Drive or for $15 per vehicle at 285 US-98 W. RVs and trailers can’t park on site and use the paid public lot across the street.

Gilligan's Watersports (530 Harbor Blvd): free on-property parking, first come, first served, with overflow at 531 Mountain Drive.

Xtreme H2O (7 Calhoun Ave): public parking at the Destin Marina beside the launch — limited on high-volume days, so carpool when possible.

Check-In

Driving the pontoon? Start with the easy part: if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, Florida law asks for a boater safety certificate — and taking the temporary boater test online before you arrive makes check-in easier and faster. No time? The $3 NASBLA test is offered right at the dock — just build in a few extra minutes. Then be at your dock 45 minutes before your start time with a photo ID for every driver, and the dock team will take care of life jackets, the safety rundown, and your send-off.

Bring along: reef-safe sunscreen, a secure hat, something waterproof for your phone, and a small soft-sided cooler with drinks — glass stays home.

No, you do not need a boating license to rent a pontoon boat from Destin Water Fun. Before your departure, our experienced staff provides a comprehensive safety orientation covering boat operation, navigation rules, and local waterway guidelines so you feel confident and prepared on the water.

How many people can fit on a pontoon boat?

Our standard pontoon boats and double decker pontoons each accommodate up to 12 passengers comfortably. Every boat comes equipped with ample seating, a bimini shade top for sun protection, Bluetooth speakers, and a cooler so your group can relax and enjoy the day on the water.

Is fuel included in the rental?

Yes, fuel is included in all pontoon boat rental packages at Destin Water Fun. There are no hidden fees or fuel surcharges — the price you see covers everything you need for a full day of boating around Destin Harbor and Crab Island.

Can I take the boat to Crab Island?

Absolutely! Crab Island is our most popular destination and is just a short ride from our dock at East Pass Marina on Harbor Blvd. The shallow, crystal-clear waters make it the perfect spot to anchor, swim, and enjoy the floating food vendors and water activities.

Do you offer military discounts?

Yes! Destin Water Fun proudly offers a 10% discount on pontoon boat rentals and jet ski rentals for active duty military, veterans, and law enforcement personnel. Simply present a valid military or law enforcement ID at check-in to receive your discount.

What is the cancellation policy?

We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled rental time. If severe weather forces a cancellation on our end, we will work with you to reschedule or provide a full refund. We recommend booking early, especially during peak summer season, as boats fill up quickly.

Tour Details

Restrictions:

Pontoon boats MUST stay inside our 13 mile radius and may NOT go into the Gulf of Mexico. Any pontoon boats found outside of our radius will be fined a $500 penalty per piece of equipment found. This is for the safety of our customers and equipment.

Tour Safety:
Pursuant to section 327.54, Florida Statutes, only a licensed livery operator may give safety instructions on the operation of a vessel. Due to staffing, we are unable to provide safety instruction in languages other than English at this time, nor can we permit members of the public to translate for guests. Thank you for your understanding.
